However photojournalist Tom Carter has sought out to introduce China in its entirety with CHINA: Portrait of a People, the most comprehensive book of photography on modern China ever published by a single author.
Tom Carter of San Francisco spent 2 years traveling 35,000 miles (56,000 kilometers) across the Middle Kingdom to visit over 200 cities and villages, including some of the most remote locations in the country. En route, he discovered and photographed spectacular geographic and ethnic diversity.
'What the photographs herein reveal is that China is not just one place, one people, but 33 distinct regions populated by 56 different ethnicities, each with their own languages, customs and lifestyles,' writes China travel expert Tom Carter in his introduction. Second in a series of Hobee’s Quest Books that are Non-Violent is Hobee and his side-kick Bobit. Join them as they continue their Quest to look for others like Hobee as they help and find different animals along the way. Hobee sets sail aboard a ship along with an old sea rat named O’Rourke. They meet and end up helping other animals, when the ship starts to take on water. The ship has to dock and make repairs on a small Island. Hobee and Bobit start to explore the Island and its inhabitants. Hobee soon finds out that the inhabitants all have a problem with greed and don’t like to share with others. The two friends try to help the Islanders become more cooperative, as they find new clues that were left behind by the Marching Rodent Explorers. They get evolved in helping the Islanders, and as a result, they end up missing their ship. That leads Hobee to ask the Head Tool Teeker D.J. for help.

New Addition to Children’s Book Series Promotes Non-Violence, Encourages Adventure and Discovery
EUGENE, Ore. – Join Hobee and his sidekick Bobit as they continue their quest to find others like Hobee, while helping all the different animals they encounter along the way in Hobee’s Quest: Goes Abroad (published by AuthorHouse), the second installment in Robert B. Chamber’s Hobee’s Quest Book Series.
Hobee and Bobit set sail aboard a ship towards their next destination and adventure with an old sea rat name O’Rourke. When the ship begins taking on water, they are forced to dock and make repairs on a small island. While on the island, Hobee and Bobit get involved in helping the Islanders, who have a problem with greed, and as a result, they end up missing the ship’s departure and become stranded. They are forced to go to the Head Tool Teeker D.J. and ask him for assistance in getting off the island.
The Head Tool Teeker D.J. has a wooden submarine built for the explorers, powered by two bicycles the pair must peddle to make it go. They set sail for the Deep Ocean and new discoveries. Hobee and Bobit’s favorite thing is helping others in need, and the two meet many eccentric characters along their way, including the Skoodaddles, who are being bullied by a great white shark, a tiger shark and a barracuda.
Hobee and Bobit help the Skoodaddles get rid of their enemies, and in return are told the location of the hidden Gates of Ambiguous. However, the three sharks are not really gone and pursue Hobee and Bobit to the Island of Pretend, where they help overthrow a mean and cruel ruler named King Pettis, who makes everyone dress up and do silly things for their food. From there the explorers end up in the Caspian Sea, where they meet Otty the Octopus, who sends them up the Caucasus Mountains to aid King Leo the Lion in freeing little mammals previously enslaved by a group of Hyenas.
Will Hobee and Bobit find their way out of the Caspian Sea, so they can continue Hobee’s Quest? What further adventures lie ahead for the explorers?
